Introduction
The Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) was established on 4th November 1998 as a result of multi-folded efforts by various stakeholders of the Private Sector. The TPSF was established as a company limited by guarantee to promote private sector-led social and economic development in Tanzania by:
Since its founding, TPSF has served as a focal point for private sector advocacy and lobbying on behalf of the private sector.
“An effective Apex Private Sector Organization, providing a focal point for the articulation of private sector-led approaches to Tanzania’s economic and social development”..
“To promote private-sector-led social and economic development in Tanzania by providing member organizations with services they value, by understanding and representing their common interests, and by engaging in effective advocacy with the Government”
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the supreme organ of the TPSF. It elects a 17-member Board of Directors. The Board works through five committees of itself: (a) Executive, (b) Finance and Administration, (c) Programmes, (d) Policy and Advocacy and (e) Membership Services. The day-to-day management of the Foundation is vested to the Executive Director who heads a team of four departmental managers.
The following traits or qualities represent TPSF’s highest priorities and deeply-held driving forces. They guide every decision that we make and impact every aspect of the Foundation.
WHAT IS OUR CORE ACTIVITY?
The Foundation’s core activity is Policy – Advocacy and Lobbying which seeks to raise issues, participate in and influence Government policy formulation and implementation in favour of the private sector. Read more
